The 'Up-Cycling Shed'

⇐ News Stories

This is a community project for older people in Weaverham in Cheshire. It is inspired by the members of St Mary's Church who are looking for ways to serve their community.

Based at the Lighthouse in Weaverham, it will provide a friendly environment for people to up-cycle old things and make new items. The idea is based on “Men in Sheds” run by Age UK, but this shed will be for both sexes and based on the craze for Up-cycling created by TV programs such as “Money for Nothing”.

It is hoped to start in March 2019, one morning per week. David Whitfield will initially lead the activity with 3 men and one lady helper. Other Potential leaders are welcome to contact David. The initial leaders have experience in DIY projects, Paint processes, Textiles and Steam Engines.

Initially we need at least 1,000 pounds for a new shed and some basic tools. Please help if you can by making a donation by using the following link
